Review history
Although not my personal favourite, but In my opinion this is the best show of all time. You take the top 10 things that make a show good, such as music, characters, plot. AOT scores a 9-10 for basically all of them. Even if you find a show that beats AOT in a specific part, AOT is such a rounded show it beats it in other parts. It’s kind of like the star platinum of shows or like the breaking bad of all shows. I think people watch season 1 and think this is just some mindless apocalypse hype show kind of story, whereas in the start it’s more a mystery kind of show. What are the titans what is the truth to this world. And once this is revealed the show completely changes genre. Watching the trailer for season 1 and season 4 you’d think these aren’t even the same show. I love the themes it tackles, cycle of hatred, peace and what it means to be free. Again, although not my personal favourite but I really do think best show to ever bless us.
I flat out didn’t like it. I think it gives cash grab vibes. The problems that this movie created seems a bit artificial. I think worst part of this movie was the romance. Peter was being a weirdo kissing other girls while being with MJ, then MJ started kissing more people while in a relationship. The mid section where Peter is processed by venom was also weird. The scene in the bar in particular gave me Skyler singing happy birthday to Ted vibes. Although there were once again so many memes that make me 'go oh it’s this meme it’s that meme' but not enough to make me like it whatsoever.
Great dialogue and great acting. I love these stage play kind of shows where everything happens in the same setting because it's nothing but pure acting, and the acting here; holy moly it's good. If you want a crime story with good mystery and suspension, this will give you a crime story with good mystery and suspension. Excellent. I’ve rewatched this over 10 times.
Although cliché it’s probably one of my favourite movie of all time. It’s a story told in unchronological order. But it’s not like memento where it does that to create suspension or mystery, it’s purely because telling the story this way is just more fun and ends with a banger scene. I think fundamentally it told an extremely unpredictable story from start to finish, and I value originality more than anything. The start can be boring, because I don’t know what they’re even talking about, but when the climax stuff starts happening I’m like this is so peak and when I rewatch it I appreciate the dialogue so much more. If you like unpredictable stories and are a fan with amazing dialogue then this movie is 100% for you.
People had great things to say about it but to me it was mostly boring. I didn’t resonate with it. In my eyes any piece of fiction’s top priority is to be entertaining, then you can do your other things, and for this show it’s showing the struggles of athletes and the different people that are in the field. Maybe I wasn’t in the right space for it, maybe I just can’t relate to those guys since I was never really good at anything, maybe Insta reels and YouTube shorts has ruined my brain and I can’t appreciate the slow movies. But I do acknowledge some good things are being said, the rain scene and the final race was very well built up and executed. The lack of music in important scenes does make me really like the movie's direction choice. For those scenes alone I think the show is still good in my eyes. Maybe if I rewatch it when I’m older I’ll appreciate it more.
Black and white movies are for boomers and I don’t need to watch this boomer slop, is what I thought before I watched 12 angry men. My naive mind was obliterated because this show was so cinema. It’s one of those stage play type movies where the whole movie is in 1 room, 12 jury men arguing whether a kid is guilty of a crime or not. No hype moment, no impact frames but I was locked in the whole time. I guess when the writing is just that fire, you’d naturally just like it. I'd give this movie an excellent. If you never watch media because it’s old and no colours then I’d say give this a shot.
I would classify this movie more as an educational video rather than movie. It’s weird, I like this movie but not a single cell in my body wants to rewatch this. The show is basically depression depression depression and then end. But I guess if you are in the situations the characters are in it would probably be depressing just like the movie. It’s a very well directed movie and the music is absolutely phenomenally, maybe a bit too good because I was so uncomfortable in some of the scenes. To me watching this movie is like visiting any war museum where I feel everyone should go but just once is perfectly enough.
I watched the manga for this so I know what happens. But I was still astounded at how good this was. It’s as if Jesus Christ himself came down from heavens itself and gifted us the perfect adaptation known to man. It’s a known fact that MAPPA overworks its employees, and it shows, you can’t create something this peak without sacrificing something from the employees. The movie is basically half romance shenanigans and half fighting. You would think the romance would be boring, but no, because they delivered the best music known to man. I watched this in the cinema and when 'in the pool' started playing my soul started nutting, that was how good it was. Then it went to the fighting. I don’t know how to describe this, the amount of dopamine I felt was like doom scrolling times 10. There is so much visual stimulation I had withdraw symptoms when I finished. And the best thing about this is this isn't even the peak arc in the manga, to me peak is the arc that follows, with the trailer announced I really do think my soul is going to once again, nut. 10/10 absolute banger.
It’s one of my favourite mangas. So I was pretty hyped to watch this. In my opinion the story started shining in the reze arc and then it’s nothing but peak in the arcs after. However Season 1 just covered the section before that, which don’t get me wrong, was good but not peak chainsaw man yet. The anime did have this quirky thing of having a unique ending song each episode, with some insane bands, so god knows how much money they threw into this show. But it not enough to justify a higher score than just good. When following arcs come that’s when I’ll rate it higher. Watching this is basically the same as investing in bitcoin back in 2011, trust me the show gets so much better in the arcs to follow.
A short but compact 12 episode standalone series about a group of criminals in the cyberpunk universe. I don’t want to spoil anything about it, but I love the realism of this story. I love our main character David, I love Adam smasher, the scene with him saying “a rudimentary implant” was so hype. Episode 6 was such a banger, episode 12 was such a banger. Amazing animation and great music. If you love the a group of people coming together and fighting against a corrupt government type of story, this show it defo for you.
A show that’s highly spoilable so I won’t talk about it in detail. It’s the story about 3 kids with extremely broken families and a horrible life, with this alien trying to fix everything with his alien gadgets. When I watch anything what I value the most is the originality, and this show is exactly that. I watched 2 episodes and I have 0 clue where this story was going, which is why I loved it so much. It also has probably one of my favourite endings in any show, I loved the message it tried to portray in the end, and it being just 6 episodes is icing on the cake, no fluff whatsoever, every episode is banger after banger. Just for the originality and the ending, it really has a special place in my heart. However I would like to say it’s a very depressing show, so maybe not watch it if you can’t handle the very screwed up topics.
I thought a huge jump from Spider-Man 1. I really like the direction the show goes. It’s not all becoming superhero and being cool type or story. Peter had so many things going on, money problems, poor academics, his identity, love and friend relationships. He’s quite alone and I think it’s quite relatable, not everyone has a Spider-Man kinda secret, but I bet everyone has secrets that not even your closest people know and this show portrayed the struggle and the difficulty to juggle so many things very well. Gotta say tho. Not a fan of MJ. You can defend her all you want. In the last movie she was tonguing Spider-Man despite being in a relationship harry and this time MJ is once again trying to kiss another man except this time she’s engaged with someone. In a way she’s upper her game I guess. Then running away from the wedding, to be with Peter, I get its supposed to be climatic and all, but poor groom, her story arc just ain’t that well written. Anyhow, story wise still a step up from spider man 1, I’d give it excellent.
Nolan at it again with this massive twist in the end that changes how you view the movie kind of story. I'm not really a fan of this movie, I also thought it was weird the towards the mid part of the show the Tesla shenanigans turned this movie from a realism type to a supernatural type. It didn't rub me the right way. It kinda feels like watching a hyper realistic detective show rooted in reality and then midway they're like, what if we added magic to the lore and throw away the realism. Great actors and great cinematography, but didn't vibe with the overall story. Mid - wont think about ever again.
Similar to fight club the prestige kind of story where you watch it, discover there's a massive twist in the end that makes your second viewing experience completely different, although I never rewatch movies. But another interesting thing is the show is directed in reverse, you see the final scene and then slowly go back, reaching the start of the of the movie when you finish. While watching I kept wondering how is the show going to reach the climax at the end when it's going in reverse order but when the twist came I was like damn no wonder we had to tell the story in reverse. However if you take this quirky thing and sort the show out in chronological order, the story itself isn't that interesting, it was just the way it was told that was interesting. Anyhow, just because of how unique it is, Ima give it good.
Ima be real, I watched it because I loved trainspotting and I wanted to watch more movies with Ewan in it, and I stumbled across big fish. My thoughts were, it was ok. It had a good blend between fiction and reality, and a mini twist in the end which I thought was a nice touch. Some of the scenes it felt like a fairy tale kind of story. so that did gave it points. If you're into the happy but with hints of sad kind of movies, this movie's for you. But it's not a movie for me. I was going to put mid, but just for the flower scene alone and the twist in the end, ima give it good.
Classic nerd boy story, getting power and becoming cool. I didn't know how much of a classic movie this is because there's like 5 memes that I recognise and didn't realise it's from this movie. It being a 2002 movie makes me appreciate CGI has come long way, because watching some of the fight scenes were quite rough. I also thought it was weird with MJ having a boyfriend but deep kissing with spiderman in the rain. Because I have 0 nostalgia for this movie so I would've given it mid, but it had so many good memes that came out with it, I'd say it was a good watch.
