Catgirl Yani struggles to pay her rent and keep a job while feeding her smoking habit. As her loved ones' concerns grow, she must rethink her future.
Chainsmoker cat had an absolutely peak first and second episode, putting light on an aspect of addiction that never really gets portrayed in anime stories. However, a problem it has that I think extends to a lot of other stories is that it has a very strong identity at the start, but then slowly gradually becomes more “standard” as the show goes on. It basically threw all of the shock factors and things that make it unique at the beginning few episodes, and the remaining episodes, the characters and stuff that happens I feel I can see this happening in other shows too, making it lose its uniqueness. The characters really do interest me, but they don’t expand on it, maybe it’s an anime only thing but at most I’d give this show good. Then episode 8 happened and threw everything I said out the window, the shenanigans that happened in that episode will not happen in any other show. This show is so peak.
